From 1 October to 20 December 2026, artist and fine art photographer Flore Zoé will open OPEN DEPOT in Amsterdam’s Houthavens: a temporary 800 m² space presenting changing selections from thirty years of her artistic practice.
After years of exhibiting predominantly internationally, Flore Zoé returned to the Netherlands earlier this year with SYM-ME-TRY at Paleis Soestdijk, bringing together three decades of work in a major retrospective exhibition.
Rather than creating another conventional exhibition, OPEN DEPOT takes a different approach. For one season, Zoé is relocating her Dutch depot to Amsterdam and opening it to the public. Works will move in and out throughout the season, creating new combinations between different periods and series. The selection includes familiar works as well as pieces that have rarely, or never, been shown publicly.
The move to Amsterdam also marks a return to a city with a personal connection. Not far from the Houthavens, at Haarlemmerweg 21, Zoé’s family once ran a successful carpentry and construction company. Her grandfather was the company’s architectural specialist, working on the construction and refurbishment of stores for prominent Amsterdam businesses, including De Bijenkorf and the company that would later become Perry Sport.
Generations later, Zoé returns to Amsterdam with a very different practice, but once again with a place in the city in which to create and build.
Over the course of her career, Flore Zoé’s work has been exhibited internationally, including in Paris, London, New York, Miami, Hong Kong, Singapore and Seoul, and has entered private collections worldwide.
OPEN DEPOT offers visitors an opportunity not only to encounter her work, but also to experience the process behind it. Alongside walk-in hours, private viewings and artist-led tours will offer opportunities to meet Zoé and hear the stories behind individual works and series.
A limited number of portrait sessions with Flore Zoé will also take place at OPEN DEPOT during the season. Dates will be announced separately; expressions of interest are already being accepted.
